Dashboard Widgets on Windows with Widgetop on Prism
The Mozilla Labs just released a demo of their upcoming Prism platform. It makes it easy to run any web application outside of your web browser on your native desktop just like any other desktop application. For the moment it only runs on Windows but Linux and Mac OS X support is promised to come soon.
Here are the steps you need to do for running Widgetop as a desktop application:
- Download and install Prism
- Go to your start menu and run Prism:
- Fill in the details for Widgetop:
- Select whether you want to have a start menu entry, a desktop icon and a quick launch icon.
- Finally press OK .
That’s it. Go to your start menu and find the Web Apps folder and run Widgetop.
