May 27, 2008

sidebar screenshotRunning iPhone web applications in the browser sidebar becomes more and more popular. And it makes sense because the iPhone and the browser sidebar share the same small width restriction.

Therefore we made the little tweaks to optimize our mobile desktop for the sidebar of Firefox and the Opera panels.

How to run in Firefox sidebar:

  • Open http://m.widgetop.com?ForceOnDevice and bookmark the page
  • Open the properties for the just created bookmark and check Load this bookmark in the sidebar
  • You might want to move the bookmark to the bookmark toolbar for quick access

How to add to Opera Panels:

Just click this link.

Announcement: Widgetop Mobile

May 14, 2007

Today we released our new Widgetop Mobile Desktop at:

 http://m.widgetop.com.

It makes the Apple Dashboard widgets which currently run on the standard Widget desktop accessible from your mobile phone.

At the moment we support the browser on the Symbian S60 3rd platform. This includes most of Nokias Smartphones from the E- and N-Series (complete list). In the future we hope bring it to the Opera mobile browser as well and we are pretty confident that it will run on the new Apple iPhone.

Don’t worry if you don’t have a compatible phone. You can test it from your desktop browser, just browse to:

http://www.widgetop.com/mobile.html.
